Jimmie Joseph Jirsa died on January 10, 2018 due to complications from illness. He was
6 days shy of his 75th birthday.
Jimmie Jirsa was born on January 16th, 1943 to parents, Louis & Evelyn Jirsa. Jimmie
graduated from Dorchester High School & was a member of the National Guard. He
married Sharon K. Nesvarba in 1965.
The couple farmed & raised cattle in rural Friend for most of their lives. Jimmie &
Sharon we're also active as leaders of several local 4-H clubs & along with friend Larry
Smith, founded the 5 Clovers trap shooting team in Wilber, NE.
Jimmie Jirsa is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sharon Jirsa and their children: Sandra
& husband Dwayne Pospisil of Hallam, NE; James Jirsa of Lincoln, NE; Steven & wife Tricia Jirsa of
Madison, NE; grandchildren: Preston and wife Lynette Pospisil and Stacy Pospisil; Dakota and Dalton Jirsa; and Mackenzie and Ashton Jirsa; and great grandchildren: Pierce and Marshall Pospisil.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents: Anna and James Jirsa; Blanch and Joe
Bruha; and parents: Evelyn and Louis Jirsa.
An Open House will be held on Thursday, January 18th from 5 – 8 PM with Celebration of Life beginning at 6 PM at Dorchester United Methodist Church. A supper will be served following the service. Casual attire requested. Memorials are in care of the family for future designation.
