Jo Ann Chesser, 72, of Lincoln, passed away on March 26, 2017. She was born February 22, 1945, the only child of Edward and Helen Rasmus of West Point, Nebraska. She was raised and educated in West Point, graduating West Point High School in1963. Jo graduated from the National Business Institute of Lincoln, Nebraska in 1964, receiving her business diploma. She worked at the Credit Bureau of Lincoln for 2 Years. Jo married Robert Redding of Lyons, Nebraska in 1965 and divorced in 1973. She the worked at West Point Hospital as a ward clerk until attending Penrose Hospital School of Nursing in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She graduated as an L.P.N. in 1971. She did private duty nursing following her graduation until moving to Omaha, Nebraska where she worked at Bergen Mercy Hospital for 2 years. After moving to Lincoln, she went to work at St. Elizabeth's Hospital for 2 years. Jo married Benjamin A. Chesser of Crete, Nebraska on December of 1975. She was employed at Bryan Hospital of Lincoln for 14 years, retiring from nursing in 1992. She did volunteer work with her dog doing Pet Therapy. Jo was a life-time member of Grace Lutheran Church of West Point. She is survived by her Husband Benjamin Alan Chesser of Lincoln, sisters-in-law Judy Henning of Crete, Malinda Vanderslice of Aurora, Colorado. 10 nieces and nephews by marriage and 8 cousins.
