John C. Jones, 87, of Crete, passed away on July 26, 2021 at the Wilber Care Center.  He was born on January 26, 1934 in Hamtramck, Michigan to parents Robert and Wilhemina (Frank) Jones.  He was baptized at Grace Evangelical Church.  After graduation from Eastern High School in Detroit, John enlisted in the Air Force, serving four years during the Korean Conflict.  He was last stationed at the Lincoln Air Base when he met his future wife, Judy Aksamit.  They were married April 11, 1959 at the Grace United Methodist Church in Crete.  They had one son, Kevin.  John was employed by the Nebraska Department of Roads for over 41 years; first as a draftsman and then a right of way department real estate appraiser.  John is survived by his wife Judy, son Kevin, brother Charles Jerome and nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Caroline Sharron, brothers:  Robert Jones and William Jerome and several very special aunts and uncles.  Memorials have been designated to Grace United Methodist Church, the American Cancer Society or to the Alzheimer's Association.  Services will be held on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Grace United Methodist Church in Crete.  Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 - 8 P.M. at Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete.  Arrangements entrusted to Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete.
