John A. Tachovsky, 59, of Swanton, NE passed away Jan. 1, 2016. He was born on Feb. 4, 1956 in Beatrice, NE to Lester W. & Jean A. (Placek) Tachovsky. John was raised in Swanton and graduated from Tri-County High School in 1974. He farmed after high school and on April 19, 1980 he married Kathleen Earl in Crete at the Methodist Church, they continued to farm. John also worked at Endicott Brickyard, American Tool and he also drove truck for Werner Enterprises but John's first love was farming. John lived in the Swanton area his entire life and is a former member of the Swanton Volunteer Fire Department.

John's family was very important to him and he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

John is preceded in death by his father, Lester; mother and father-in-law, Alta and Everett Earl; and his grandparents.

Survivors include wife, Kathleen of Swanton; mother, Jean A. Tachovsky of Swanton; daughter, Jennifer (Lee) Burkhardt of Crete; sons, Kenneth Tachovsky of Swanton & Daniel (Jennie) Tachovsky of Nebraska City; grandchildren, Evie Burkhardt & Kloie Burkhardt of Crete, Brixton Tachovsky of Nebraska City; brothers, Bill Tachovsky of Beatrice & Kevin Tachovsky of Wilber; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Honorary Pallbearers are Gary Jiskra, Gary Barta, Lynn Strouf, Mark Strouf, Frank Slama, Steve Garrison, Dave Smisek and Greg Kirchoff.

A Memorial Service will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at Kuncl Funeral Home in Wilber. Casual attire is requested by the family. Pastor Lila Bottolfsen will officiate. Inurnment will be at Wilber Czech Cemetery. Memorials in lieu of flowers to Swanton Volunteer Fire Department or DeWitt Rescue Squad. Condolences may be left at kunclfh.com.
