Joseph M. DiNapoli of Crete died on October 23, 2022, at the age of 96.  Formerly of White Plains, N.Y., Joe moved to Crete in 1999. Joe was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ida. He is survived by his four children: Linda DiNapoli of Staten Island, NY; Adrienne Hunter (John) of Pittsburgh, PA; Joseph L. DiNapoli (Margaret) of Lincoln, NE; and Bernard DiNapoli (Kim) of Crete, NE. He had 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews, including special niece Linda Johnson (Roger) of Crete, NE.

Joe joined the Navy at age 17 and served as an aviation airman and aerial gunner in the Pacific arena during WWII. He also served as a communication specialist in the Air Force during the Korean War.

A very popular mailman, Joe was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers, Branch 693, Peekskill, NY for over 70 years.

Joe was an avid golfer and was a member of the College Heights Country Club. His other favorite past times included bowling, his family, and enjoying his wife's delicious homemade Italian meals.

Joe was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Crete, NE.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to The Legacy, 5600 Pioneers Blvd, Lincoln, NE.

A Vigil Service will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Crete on Friday, October 28, 2022 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30.
