Julie Hope Bridger-Viger was born to James Jackson (Jack) Bridger and Janet Rose (Rott) Bridger on Sunday, August 26, 1973 at the Hospital in Crete Nebraska, and was called home to our Savior on Thursday, March 17, 2016 in Crete at the age of 42 years. She was the sixth of seven children born to Jack and Janet.
Julie was proudly a lifetime resident of her hometown Crete, Nebraska. She graduated in 1992 from Crete Jr/Sr High School, and attended Doane College.
Julie was a homemaker and proud mother of four rambunctious boys. She was known for her spunk and free-spirited zeal for life. Julie could often be found dreaming up a new idea and figuring out how to make it come to fruition. Always quick to offer a smile and laugh to those around her, whether a friend, family member, or a complete stranger. Julie had a knack for storytelling and could always recall the best details when reminiscing with family and friends.
Julie is preceded in death by her brother Troyce Bridger; paternal grandparents James Hurssell and Pauline Elizabeth (Jackson) Bridger of El Dorado Springs, Missouri; maternal grandparents Bohumil (Barney) and Hope (Bartunek) Rott of Spalding and later Grand Island, Nebraska; as well as, her aunt Betty Rott and uncles Jerome (Jerry) Rott, Andrew Rott, and Joseph Rott.
She is survived by her son Robert Aaron Bridger-Viger his wife Keli (Tlamka) their daughter Bailey of Lawton Oklahoma, and her sons Casey Viger, Donavin Viger, and Evan Viger of Crete; former husband Robert (Bob) Viger of Seward; parents Jack and Janet (Rott) Bridger of Crete; and the following siblings, nieces, and nephews: Rose Marie Bridger-King of Wymore, Khrystal (King) and James Harrod of Lincoln, Ashley King of Lincoln, Jaymes and Annie (Hill) King of Corpus Christi, Texas; James (Jim) Bridger and children Amanda, Mykayla, Katelyn, and James Bridger of Gainesville, Texas; Jodie (Bridger) Jasper and Larry Olena of Geneva, Dillon and Niki (Willard) Jasper of Lincoln, Dustin Jasper and Kristine Filkins of Crete, Abbie Jasper of Wilber, Macie (Jasper) and Nathan Zahourek of Wilber; Sherol (Bridger) and Dave Rankin with their son Benjamin Rankin of Elkhorn; Jennifer (Bridger) and Jose Luis (Kerby) Chavez, their sons Nigel Bridger and Ezekiel Chavez-Bridger of Crete; 10 Great Nieces and Nephews, Carter, Cayden, Paytin, Jazmin, Maci, Karsin, Jaxson, Makenzie, Atalie, Kaylie Jo; As well as numerous Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.
Rosary will be held Sunday March 20th at 4pm and Funeral Mass will be held Monday March 21st at 10am at Sacred Heart Church in Crete, Nebraska. Viewing will be Sunday from noon until 3pm at Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete and beginning at 9am on Monday at the church.
