Obituary

Karen Annette Bachman, 76, of Crete, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2026, at the Wilber Care Center in Wilber, Nebraska.

Karen was born on July 20, 1950, in Valley City, North Dakota, to LeRoy “Bud” Bachman and Carlyn “Connie” Bachman Holm. She graduated from Milnor High School in Milnor, North Dakota, and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from North Dakota State University in Fargo. She later earned her Master’s Degree in Psychology from Doane College Lincoln.

After completing her undergraduate studies, Karen remained in Fargo, where she lived and worked until the late 1980s. She then moved to Nebraska, following three of her four siblings, so she could be closer to her family and spend more time with her young nephews.

Karen was a warm and caring woman who treasured her family and friendships. Karen loved her nieces and nephews deeply, and she showed that love not only through her words but through her presence. From football, baseball, and basketball games to school plays, dance recitals, concerts, trap shoots, and everything in between, Karen could be counted on to be there in the stands or seated nearby, smiling, cheering, and proudly supporting the people she loved.

Karen never needed to be the center of attention. She was happiest encouraging others and celebrating life’s special moments alongside them. Her constant presence, unwavering support, and devotion to her family were among the greatest gifts she gave and will always be cherished.

Karen also had a playful and colorful sense of style. She loved shopping and had a special talent for finding unique and wonderfully wild outfits that she “just had to have.” Her vibrant personality and unmistakable style brought joy and laughter to those around her. She enjoyed ceramics, oil painting, and watercolor painting and could often be found sharing a cup of coffee and conversation with friends while proudly talking about her nieces and nephews.

Karen was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kramer, Nebraska.

She is survived by her siblings, Larry “Bach” Bachman of Milnor, North Dakota; Roxann “Roxie” Bachman of Kramer, Nebraska; Kurtis “Uncle Kurt” and Pam Bachman of Adams, Nebraska; and Karla and Gary Renner of Crete, Nebraska.

Her nieces and nephews include Chad and Laurie McDaniel of Roca, Nebraska; Randy Adams of Adams, Nebraska; Shane Renner of Crete, Nebraska; Beau Bachman of Kramer, Nebraska; Alysia Buss of Adams, Nebraska; Zach and Jennifer King of Wilber Nebraska; and Paul and Khristina Bachman of Adams, Nebraska.

She was preceded in death by her parents, LeRoy “Bud” and Carlyn “Connie” Bachman.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kramer, Nebraska. A luncheon will follow the service in the church fellowship hall.

Karen will be remembered for her kindness, her vibrant spirit, and the unconditional love she gave to her family. Her presence will be deeply missed, but the love, encouragement, and memories she gave so freely will remain forever.

Rest easy, Karen. You have the best seat in the house now.
