Katherine "Kathy" Chrastil was born on July 18, 1948 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Raymond and Dorothy (Haase) Stern and passed away on September 24, 2023 at Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska surrounded by her family.

Kathy had an infectious smile and love for her family.  She loved crocheting, her fill in books and karaoke.  She was united in marriage to Raymond Chrastil, Sr. on April 24, 1965 and to this union 3 children were born.

She is survived by her children:   Angie (Norman) Johnson, Raymond Chrastil, Jr., and Daniel Chrastil and fiancé Mary Ellen DeBoer, all of Crete.  Grandchildren:  JoAnne Johnson and fiancé Earl French, Logan Johnson and fiancé Heather Beckman, Valerie Dingman and significant other Jamie Belt, Michael Johnson, Ashley Chrastil, Langdon Chrastil, Avery (Tiara) Chrastil and Markay Chrastil.  Great grandchildren; Travis, Griffis, Erica, Wyatt, Davian and LJ Johnson, Audrina Dingman, JJ Belt, Edith, Osborne, Opal and Iverson Chrastil.  Brothers: Butch and John Stern.  Sisters: Karen and Jackie Henderson.  Brother in law and spouse: Raphael (Julie) Chrastil.  Sister in law and spouse:  Rose Ann (Bud) Steer. Special daughters: Tracy Mullikin and Tracy Harrington, many other family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Raymond Chrastil, Sr. and sister Sharon Cerveny.

Memorial Mass will be at 10:30 AM, Friday, September 29, 2023 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Crete, NE.  Rosary will be at 7:00 PM, Thursday at the church.  Arrangements entrusted to Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete.
