Kevin J. Jones passed away surrounded by loved ones at his home in St. Louis on August 30, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was greatly loved and will be missed by so many.

Kevin was born in Crete, Nebraska, March 17, 1962, to his parents, John and Judy Jones. He attended Crete schools and graduated in 1980. He attended and graduated Doane College in 1984 and continued his education earning his Masters in 1999 from Webster University in St. Louis.

Although his vocation was in Human Resources, he always had a passion for music and theater. He was part of many award-winning musical productions in St. Louis community theater groups in a variety of roles ranging from acting, set and costume design, conducting orchestra, and directing. He received many Arts for Life Community Theater awards in these roles including Best Show, Best Director or Musical Director, Best Set and Costumes. He was proficient in both piano and pipe organ and often played for Grace United Methodist Church throughout his life when visiting his Crete

Kevin is preceded in death by his father, John Jones, and his grandparents, Steve and Libbie Aksamit. He is survived by his mother, Judy Jones of Crete, and his life friend, David Sublett, of St. Louis, and many of his loving circle of long-time friends.

Services will be held at Grace United Methodist Church in Crete on September 13 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be at Crete Cemetery. Memorials to be designated at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete.
