Larry J. Kahle, age 83, of Dorchester, Nebraska, passed away on June 28, 2026, in Crete. He was born December 5, 1942 to Adam and Elvia (Friendt) Kahle in Friend, Nebraska.

Larry spent his life farming and trucking. He enjoyed going to and competing in tractor pulls, hunting, watching local races and Nascar races on TV.

He married Jean Justa in 1972, and helped her raise her two children, Candy and Wes.

He is survived by his wife, Jean; stepchildren, Candy Justa, Wes (Rene) Justa; step-grandson, Joey; sisters, Bonnie George, Carol Smejdir, Janet Smejdir; nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Adam and Elvia Kahle; sisters, Eileen Nerud; brothers, Lloyd Kahle, Roger Kahle; brothers-in-law, Jim Nerud, Dorman Smejdir, Vern Smejdir, Ken George; nephews, Todd Smejdir, Ron Kahle; nieces, Kathy George, and Patty George.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Dorchester Community Cemetery followed by lunch at the Dorchester American Legion.
