Lois E. Havel, 94, passed away peacefully at home on December 11, 2024, in Wilber, NE.

She was born on May 5, 1930, in Grafton, NE to Leonard and Elizabeth Ellington. Lois graduated from Grafton Public Schools in 1946 at 16 years of age. She then attended Doane College and earned her Teaching Certificate. After college, she taught at Wilber and Grafton Public Schools. While teaching in Wilber, Lois met her husband Frank, and they married in 1951.

In 1966, Frank and Lois opened their first business in Wilber. Together they owned and operated Frank's Locker, Jack & Jill, Foodland and Frank's Smokehouse.

Lois enjoyed watching sports, playing cards, spending time with her family and attending many sporting events for her sons and grandchildren.

During her life, Lois was an active member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Eastern Star, Woman's Club, American Legion Auxiliary, Nebraska Czechs of Wilber, Wilber Chamber of Commerce, and Sokol.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, husband Frank, son Mark and granddaughter Erin. Survived by her children; James (Brenda) Havel, Scott (Pam) Havel, Paul Havel, Brenda Vlasak. Grandchildren; Brian, Amber, Ashley, Tyler, Lucas and Trev. Great Grandchildren; Hallee, Omar, Xaiver, Addyson, Liam, Odin, Ona, Haegen, Wrenley and Laynie. Lastly, her cat Tommie.

Services will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 11:00 AM at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wilber. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5 - 7 PM at Kuncl Funeral Home in Wilber. Memorials have been designated to the Lutheran Church in Wilber or to the American Legion Auxiliary in Wilber. Arrangements entrusted to Kuncl Funeral Home in Wilber.
