Lumir Carl Novak, Sr., was born to Frank and Julia (Brchan) Novak on a farm in Seward County on March 16, 1924. He lived his entire life on this very farm. He attended school at District 19 in Seward County. Lumir married Ann Havlat on April 27, 1948. To this union, five children were born: Larry, Carolyn, Marilyn, Connie, and Lumir, Jr. Lumir was such a wonderful person. He loved life and enjoyed dancing, bowling, having coffee with the guys, eating out, and especially being with his family. He also loved farming, and enjoyed planting, harvesting his crops, and raising cattle. Lumir served on the school board for District 19, the F & M Oil Company, the Pleasant Dale Coop, and the Camden Cemetery. His family was everything to him. He took great pride in each and every one of them. He loved mom so much and she took such great care of him. We were certainly blessed with two of the best parents ever. We love you Dad. Lumir is survived by his loving wife of 67 years: Ann. Children and spouses: Carolyn and Dean Mach, Marilyn and Darrell Williams, Connie and Tom Kalkwarf, Lumir, Jr. and Darlene Novak. 14 grandchildren. 38 great grandchildren. 1 great great grandchild. Nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Son: Larry. Brothers and sisters in law: Adolph and Evelyn Novak, Bob and Dorothy Novak. Sisters and brothers in law: Helen and Jim Andelt, Alice and Ken Kemper. Great grandson: Royce. Brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces, and nephews. Services: Monday, 10:30 am, Kuncl Funeral Home, Crete. Viewing beginning Sunday, 2 pm. Family will receive friends 5 – 8 pm. Interment: Camden Cemetery, Seward Co. Memorials are in care of the family for future designation.
