Obituary

Lydia Eileen Miller, "29", was called home in her sleep by her heavenly father on November 20th, 2016. Born May 18th, 1944 to Harlyn and Nila (Lytle) Crisman in Lyons, Kansas, she grew up in Crete where she would graduate high school, make many friends and raise a family of her own.

Lydia met Perry Dean Miller when she was just a teenager but she quickly became smitten with his motorcycle riding charm and the two of them would be married October 3rd, 1962. Two children blessed their home and years later the grandchildren came. When she became a widow in February of 1999, Lydia found herself with more time on her hands than she liked and after retirement she volunteered to help care for the U.C.C. church, knitted many a blanket and began a quest to plant the perfect garden.

She is survived by her children; Elisa (Bill) England and Bob (Karen) Miller, grandchildren and special friends; Sara (Alex) Miller, Jordan (Matt) Groathouse, Jared (Megan) Groathouse, Taylor Groathouse, and Ethan Miller, siblings; Lynda Filipi, Kathy (Ron) Dittmer, Barb Hostetler, Tom (Mary) Crisman, and Jenny (Keith) Phillips and many other family members and friends who loved her.

Preceeded in death by her husband, parents, sisters in law and brothers in law and nieces and nephews.

Lydia's wishes were for her burial to remain private, but the family is holding a separate Celebration of Life for her at the United Church of Christ in Crete at 10 a.m. on November 23rd, 2016 where all her extended family and friends are invited. A fellowship will follow in the church hall.
