Margaret Berniece Murray was born on November 27, 1934, at home east of Crete to William and Margaret (Shavlik) Muff. She died April 13, 2026, at the age of 91 in Springhill, TN surrounded by family and friends.

Berniece attended St. James Catholic School and graduated from Crete High School in 1952. She then attended Doane College receiving her teaching certificate in 1954. She taught school in Seward, Walton and a country school by Ashland, NE. Berniece married James Murray on September 29, 1956, and they had 5 children.

Berniece is survived by her children and their spouses: Sharon & Mike Kastanek of Wilber, NE, Jim & Jody Murray of Seymore, TN, Martin & Vickie Murray of Lincoln, NE, Brian & Olga Murray of Ijamville, MD, Beverly & Mark Wolfe of Springhill TN. Grandchildren include: Christine & Mike Strubel, Michaela & JJ Willis, Kristin Murray, Amber Murray, Danielle Murray, Austin Murray, Tiffany Murray, Lee Wenzel, Ashley & Ryan Zmek, Justin & Chaundra Murray, Tyler Murray, Viktor Murray, Anton Murray, Shaliea Murray & Mitch Yoder, Dylan & Dalee Murray, Kayla & Mike Mason, Kylie &Alex Ferguson, Talitha Armbrust. 22 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Siblings and their spouses: Judy Muff, Vicky Muff, Loretta & Artie Kubicek, Donna & Dwaine Novak.

She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings and their spouses, Ben & Claire Muff, Ron & Kathy Muff, Bill Muff, Florence & Don McKay, Gene & Theo Muff, Ken Muff, Paul & Laurel Muff, nephews Keith Kemerling, Gene Muff, Jr. Nieces Barbara Muff, Christine Muff.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, April 20, 2026, at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church in Crete. The Rosary will begin at 10:00 AM. Visitation is Sunday, 1 - 3 PM at Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete.
