We honor the life of Margie Jean Kraus, born on July 25, 1947, who departed this life on July 15, 2026. A loving mother, wife, sister, grandmother and friend, Margie's memory will forever live in the hearts of those she left behind.

Margie is survived by her devoted husband, Gerald Kraus, her loving children Suzette Hipple, Dionne Gorji, Linn Hamilton and cherished grandchildren Skylar White and Yahsmin Gorji-Lechner (Blake Lechner). Margie also left behind her dear sister Terri Krejdl (Gary), her cousin Patricia Smith and sis-in-law Ruth Gross. Margie will be remembered by her many nieces and nephews.

Margie was predeceased by her parents, Theresa and John Gross, and her brothers Jack, Jerry (Vera), Jim (Doris) and Pat Gross. Their memories are etched in her heart as they reunite in their eternal homeland.

Viewing for Margie will be held on July 19, 2026, 1:00 - 3:00PM at Kuncl Funeral Home & Cremation in Crete, Nebraska. There will also be a funeral service for Margie on July 20, 2026, at 11:00 AM Kuncl Funeral Home & Cremation in Crete, Nebraska. A reception will follow the funeral at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Crete, Nebraska.

Margie, originally from Marysville, KS, moved to Lincoln, NE in 1965 at the age of 18. Margie’s life took a beautiful turn when she married Gerald Kraus in 1982. Together, they moved to a gorgeous farm near Denton, Nebraska in 1992. Margie became a proud mother in 1971 and again in 1974. She was overjoyed to become a grandmother in 2004. Margie’s love expanded to include an adopted daughter Dionne Gorji and granddaughter Yahsmin Gorji-Lechner in 2000.

Margie was a devout attendee at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She enjoyed watching Dr. Pol and other veterinary shows. Among her hobbies were writing poetry and gardening. She cherished her days out meeting with her sister and cousins for lunch, joining veterans' meetups with her husband Jerry, and having dinner with friends and family. Taking morning walks through the countryside she called a backyard gave her joy and exercise. Hawaii and warm climate cruises were her favorite vacation spots.

Margie was a kind soul whose heart overflowed with love and a gentleness that touched others. Her life was filled with the colors of joy, particularly pinks and blues. She believed in the boundlessness of love and taught the same to her loved ones. Margie's legacy will reside in the love and respect she bestowed upon her family and friends, and to know her, was to love her. Margie’s little furbaby, Champagne, will profoundly miss her.

As we bid farewell to Margie, we remember her not only for the life she lived but also for the lives she touched. Her spirit will forever remain alive in our hearts.
