Marilyn Jean Barth, 85, of Crete passed away May 28, 2017 at Tabitha of Crete. She was born July 26, 1931 in Crete to Fred and Pearl (Tavis) Kerst. Marilyn graduated from Crete High School in 1949 and then attended Doane College for 2 years. She married Kenneth Lloyd Barth on April 19, 1952.
Marilyn was a charter member of the Lioness Club and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for over 50 years. She was a lifelong member of Plymouth Congregational Church, where she served on the Ladies Aid. She was a member of Eastern Star, the Crescent Club through Eastern Star, and was an Eastern Star Worthy Maiden. She was a homemaker and loved her family and community.
Marilyn is survived by son, Philip and wife Susan of Wisconsin, son Fred of Lincoln, son Craig of Wisconsin, granddaughter Adrienne Olson and husband Tom, and granddaughter Jamie Barth, and great grandson, Kaden Olson, all of Wisconsin, sister-in-law, Arlene Kerst of Crete, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Barth, parents, Fred and Pearl Kerst, brother, Gerald Kerst, grandson, Jacob Barth, and brother and sister in-law, Robert and Dorothy Neujahr.
A private family graveside service was held at Riverside Cemetery in Crete. Memorials are suggested to Plymouth Congregational Church in Crete or Tabitha of Crete. Arrangements were entrusted to Kuncl Funeral Home, Crete. Condolences may be left online at kunclfh.com.
