Obituary

Marilyn Grace (Martens) Nast, died Tuesday, January 2, 2019. She was born July 11, 1932 in Houston, Texas, the only daughter of George Edwin and Meta Martens. She married Gerald Helmut Nast, from Alberta Canada on July 21, 1956 and had three children: Holly Christine (Dave) Kamprath, Karla Kay (John) Snoozy and Kevin Ray (Jeanette) Nast. She had 6 grandchildren: Benjamin, Jacob, Kayla, Molly, Kyla and Jeremy, and 5 great grandchildren. She is survived by her brother Byron Sterling Martens of Houston.

Marilyn loved Jesus and shared her faith with hundreds of children, as a Lutheran school teacher, and VBS volunteer. She especially enjoyed music: playing piano, organ, hand bells and singing in choirs. After teaching, she volunteered wherever she and Gerald lived. After his death, and until a couple of weeks ago, she continued to volunteer in her church and community. Marilyn supported many missionaries as they spread God's love. She was quick to remind you of it too. If you ever called her on the phone, her greeting would be, "Jesus loves you, this is Marilyn".
