LT. Mark Allen Wixson, age 67, died Tuesday, August 25, 2026, in Dorchester, NE. He was born, July 27th, 1959, in Geneva, WI to David Allen Wixson and Theresa Marguerite O’Grady. Mark spent his life serving in the United States Navy, where he retired February 1st, 1999. He earned many medals, ribbons, and designations; earning a National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal (3), Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (7), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Navy and Marine Achievement Medal (3), Navy Unit Commendation, Meritorious Unit Commendation (3), Expeditionary Medal, Battle “E” Ribbon (4), Humanitarian Service (2), Overseas Service Ribbon (3), Rifle Expert Medal, Pistol Expert Medal, Aviation Warfare Specialist, and Aircrew Pen. Mark enjoyed traveling, kayaking, and spending time with many friends. His favorite place to travel was to the beach. Mark is survived by his wife Robin Kay Wixson; Two daughters, Danielle Ketchum and Kelly Moore; Two sons-in-law, John Ketchum and John Moore; Three sisters, Sue Rye, Mary Moss, and Karen Shanahan; Two brothers-in-law, Kirk Moss, and Bill Shanahan; Six grandchildren, Ryan Ketchum, Julia Ketchum, Addison Ketchum, Sean Ketchum, Greyson Moore, and Andrew Moore. He is preceded in death by his parents, David Allen Wixson and Theresa Marguerite O’Grady. A Celebration of Life open house will be held Saturday, September 12th, 2026, from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM, at the Dorchester Legion Hall, 605 Washington Ave, Dorchester, NE.
