Mary Margaret Conway, age 71, of Crete, Nebraska passed away in Lincoln on Saturday afternoon, August 22. Mrs. Conway was born in Omaha, Nebraska to Charles and Cecelia (Kraft) Vanderbur February 15, 1955.

Mrs. Conway graduated from Anita High School in 1973. She then attended Creighton University graduating with a degree in English in 1977. She was employed as an English and Social Studies teacher at Tri-Center High School and then in Crete for a total of 36 years.

She married Tim Conway in Persia, Iowa on November 23, 1983. They were parents to Michaela (Seth Bell) Conway and T.J. (Charlene) Conway, all of Crete. Tim and Mary were proud grandparents of Cece, Conway, Cillian, Carrigan, Cormac, Jack and Crash. She is also survived by her sister Vicki (John) Gallagher of rural Cumming.

An Open House will be held on Friday, August 28th, 2026, from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at the 1206 in Crete with a Memorial Service beginning at 5:30 PM.

The family asks that memorial gifts be given to Crete Legion Baseball or the Crete Public Schools Foundation in Mary's name.
