Nancy had a passion for barn quilts, with members of the Wilber planter box committee Nancy drew designs for 29 barn quilt blocks and with the committees' help painted the designs using the Czech colors as a means to extend a welcome to the visitors of Wilber. Nancy and Frank Linhart made and sold heart address signs to generate funds for the Wilber City Park playground equipment. Nancy was awarded the Sertoma to Mankind award in 2001, Volunteer of the year 2009 for the Czech Festival, and in 2014 the Zajicek Community Builder award from the Wilber Chamber of Commerce.
