Noreen Lee (Armstrong) Wild, 90, passed away June 21st, 2025, with her family by her side. Born May 21st, 1935, to Robert Galen and Evelyn Louise (Nespory) Armstrong. Noreen was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and cherished by her family and all that knew her.
Noreen graduated from Crete High School in 1953 and was united in marriage to Wallace Lee Wild, September 12th, 1954. They enjoyed 70 years together.
Together they raised 3 children, 7 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. Noreen enjoyed life as a farmer's wife with duties anywhere from preparing meals and taking them to the field to driving grain trucks.
Noreen worked various jobs including Lincoln Telephone Company, JCPenney, Bethlehem Lutheran Church Office, owning Montgomery Ward's Catalog Store with her sister, Patricia Vyhnalek, Runza, Dr. Bruce Kennedy's Dental Office, Wild Chiropractic Clinic, and retired from Region V after 17 years.
Noreen was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Crete and St. John's Lutheran Church in Kramer. Noreen also served on various committees within the churches.
Noreen is preceeded in death by her parents, Robert Galen and Evelyn Armstrong. Parent-in-laws- Walter Henry and Margurite Edna (Bienhoff) Wild. Siblings- Gaylord Armstrong, Darrell Armstrong, Robert Armstrong, and LeAnn Jean (Armstrong) Henning. Sister-in-laws- Marge (Trvz) Armstrong, Alice (Wild) Williams, and Dorothy (Wild) Schmidt. Brother-in-laws- Charles Vyhnalek, Harold Williams, and Roger Schmidt.
Noreen is survived by her husband, Wallace (Wally). Sister- Patricia Joan (Armstrong) Vyhnalek. Brother-in-law- Arnold Henning. Children- Jayne (Steve) VanAsperen of Crete, John (Jill) Wild of Crete, and Leslie (Wild) Pomajzl of Crete. Grandchildren- James (Stephanie) Yost, Blake Yost, Dayna Yost-Reyes and Special Friend, Richard Lopez, Taylor (Nick) Heinrichs, Sydney Wild, Jacob Wild, and KayCee (John) Pomajzl-Rowden.
Noreen also leaves behind many loving great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other wonderful family members and friends.
Visitation will be held at Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete, Wednesday, June 25th, 2025, from 5:00 pm- 7:00 pm. Services will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Crete, Thursday, June 26th, 2025, at 10:30 am with luncheon to follow.
In lieu of flowers- Memorial Contributions will go to Lutheran Family Services and Lutheran Hour Ministries.
