Norma Jean Havlat, 76, of Pleasant Dale passed away June 8, 2016. She was born on July 31, 1939 in York, NE to Herbert & Clara (Heiden) Reetz. Norma was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother who was very proud of her family. Norma married Albert Havlat on September 10, 1961 at a country church in York County. They settled in the Pleasant Dale area to farm and raise a family. Together they had four children. She enjoyed cooking for people, she was known for her duck and dumpling dinner, fried chicken, and her paper thin chocolate chip cookies.
Norma was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Pleasant Dale, NE.
Survivors include her daughter, Shonnie (Brian) Wilson; sons, Jeff (Kathy) Havlat, Russ (Loree) Havlat, Douglas (Kendra) Havlat; grandchildren, Matthew (Miranda) Havlat, Rebecca Havlat (fiancé, Kristina Riche), Brandon (Shayla) Havlat, Ashley Havlat (significant other, Jess Meredith), Makennen Havlat, Morgan Havlat, Sydney Havlat; great grandchildren, Ayva Grace Havlat & Hanna Renae Havlat; brother, Leabert (Mildred) Reetz; sister, Lois Smith; sister-in-law, Lola Reetz.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Albert Havlat; brother, Eugene Reetz; brothers-in-law, Ted Snider & Forrest Smith.
Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Pleasant Dale, NE. Visitation with family greeting friends will be at the church from 5-7:30 PM on Friday. Interment at Riverside Cemetery, Crete. Memorial care of the family for future designation.
