Norman G. Dauphinee, age 87, husband of Mavis M. Dauphinee, Wilber, died January 8, 2017 in Wilber. He was born July 28, 1929 in Buffalo, N.Y. to Winfred and Kathleen (Rosborough) Dauphinee. He graduated from LaFayette High School in 1948 and worked for the New York State Highway Dept. before enlisting into the Air Force. Serving from 1951-1955 in the 28th Bombwing and stationed at Ellsworth Air Force Base in Rapid City, SD, Norm was a staff Sergeant and Tailgunner on a B-36. On July 11, 1954, he was united in marriage to Mavis M. (Burton) Dauphinee. Together they returned to the Buffalo area, living 30 years in Tonawanda, N.Y. while Norman worked at the New York Telephone Company completing classes in electronics and communications. He was a member of Plymouth Congregational Church in Bufalo and later Plymouth United Church of Christ in Crete, NE.
Norman enjoyed hiking, biking, fishing and canoeing. Retiring in 1985, the couple moved to Alliance, Nebraska where they lived until moving to Wilber in 2007. The couple observed their 62nd anniversary on July 11, 2016.
Survivors include wife, Mavis Dauphinee; daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Matthew Zimmer-Dauphinee, Conyers, GA; Sarah and Kenneth Brown, Crete, NE; Karen Butler, Richardson, TX; five grandchildren: Charlotte Irons, Melissa Heilman, Jamie Zimmer-Dauphinee, Jacob Zimmer-Dauphinee, Shelby Butler and great-grandson Dawson Heilman.
Preceded in death by parents; son-in-law Scott Butler, and sisters, Joyce (Dauphinee) MacLeod and Marion (Dauphinee) Cannon.
