Norman E. Fritz, age 84, of Wilber, passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2020. Norman was born on the family farm on April 1, 1936 to Edward and Rose (Vosika) Fritz in Saline County, Nebraska. He graduated from Wilber High School in 1954. After high school he studied carpentry at Milford Trade School. On August 28, 1956 he was united in marriage to Willa Deen Keller of Crete. After living a short time in Crete, Norman and Willa Dean returned to Norman's family farmstead northwest of Wilber, where together they raised their three children. Norman, a lifelong farmer, was also an avid fisherman, skilled woodworker, and beloved grandpa to seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Throughout his life, he was a member of the Wilber United Methodist Church, the Lions Club, the FFA Alumni and the Big Blue Bohemian Cemetery Board. He is survived by his three children, daughter and son-in-law, Cheri and Robert Mager of Wilber, son and daughter-in-law, Russell and Susan (Vlasin) Fritz of Crete, and daughter and son-in-law, Jill and Michael Chaloupka of Liberty, Mo.; special friend, Shirley Siedhoff; grandchildren, Jessica and Derrick Damrow, Brady and Blaine Jenschke, Matthew Fritz, Mitchell and Kristen Fritz, Abbey Chaloupka and Nathan Chaloupka; and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Willa Deen; his sister, Irma Pracheil; and grandson, Brian Mager. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, January 4, 2021 at Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete. The service will be livestreamed and can be accessed via the Facebook icon at the bottom of the Kuncl Funeral Home website homepage at the service start time. Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 6:00 P.M. on Sunday, January 3rd, at the funeral home. The family is requesting all guests wear masks and practice social distancing to provide a safe environment for celebrating the life of Norman E. Fritz. Honorary Pallbearers are Jessica Damrow, Brady Jenschke, Matthew Fritz, Mitchell Fritz, Abbey Chaloupka and Nathan Chaloupka. Memorials are in care of the family for future designation.
