Obituary

Patricia Jean Erickson Butt passed away on January 9, 2021 at the Crete Area Medical Center.  She was born to Kermit and Florence (Forney) Erickson in Loup City, NE on May 9, 1938.  She graduated from Arcadia Public School in 1956, and then received her Bachelor of Music Degree from UNL in 1960.  She married Merlin Butt in Lincoln, NE on May 27, 1961.  Pat taught instrumental music in the Saline County area for 38 years.  She formed thousands of special relationships with her students.  Pecan rolls and wedding cakes were her specialty. She served as the organist for the UCC in Crete for decades and taught many private lessons at her home. She also played the organ for countless funeral services at Kuncl Funeral Home throughout the years.  Patricia was a well-loved person in part due to her sincere and caring nature toward other people. Patricia Jean is survived by her daughter Melodee Ann and grandsons: Jarrett and Kyle, all of Leadville, CO, brother Kermit Erickson of North Carolina and cousins:  Peggy and Connie Erickson.  She was preceded in death by her parents, uncle Dr. Forney and his wife Della, uncles: John Erickson of Lincoln, Gene Erickson of Arcadia and aunt: Ruth Erickson Frost of Ansley.  Graveside Services will be held on Monday, May 17, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. at Riverside Cemetery in Crete, Nebraska.  Family and friends will meet at the cemetery. A special thank you to Larry and Teri Shestak, whom with their deepest of caring, made it possible for Pat to take care of her daily necessities.  So many thanks to Larry and Teri.  Her arrangements have been entrusted to Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete.
