Patty Jane Schuerman, 79, of DeWitt, NE passed away in her home on November 17, 2017. She was born to Paul and Bertha Butterfield on December 18, 1937 in Beatrice, NE. She was the youngest of 5 children. She was a graduate of Beatrice high school.
On May 20, 1956 she married Allen "Bucky" Schuerman in DeWitt, NE. She worked at the Formfit factory and the State Home in Beatrice for several years, before becoming employed at Peterson Manufacturing as a forger for 24 years. She retired from Peterson's in 1995 and became a full-time farmer's wife and homemaker. She was a hardworking woman who was the foundation of her family. She happily spent her time on the farm, tending to crops, animals, her husband, children and numerous grandchildren.
Patty is survived by her husband of 61 years, Allen Schuerman, her sons and daughter in law: Bruce and Byron (Georgia), 6 grandchildren, Adella (Tom) Roger, Amy (Sean) Schipporeit, Brad (Jenna) Schuerman, Janelle (Jesse) Vice, Lindsey (Sam Xayaphonesongkham) Schuerman, and Josh Schuerman. She had 12 great grandchildren and sister in Law Vivian (Howard) Schuerman.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father Bertha and Paul Butterfield, her brothers: Forest, Norville, Gale, Boyd Butterfield, her son Boyd Schuerman and her granddaughter Jericca Schuerman.
Services: Wednesday, 10:30 a.m., Kuncl Funeral Home, Wilber. Visitation: Tuesday, 11 – 8 p.m., funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials in care of family.
