Perry Olaf Rhoades, 85, of Lincoln, died October 18, 2017. He was born on September 1, 1932 to Perry and Lutie Rhoades in Foster, Missouri. Perry married Jody Stephen on August 16, 1957. After Jody's death in 1997, Perry married Julia Albers on December 29, 1998. Perry served in the US Navy 1951-1954, during the Korean Conflict. He began his career at the United States Post Office in York, NE, as a mail carrier. He was Assistant Postmaster in Seward, NE and was Postmaster at The Crete, NE post office, retiring in 1992. Perry was a life time member of Sertoma International and the VFW. He was also a member of Masonic Lodge 154 & Davenport OES in Davenport, NE. Perry and his wife, Julia, were Roadrunner drivers with Sesostris Shriners in Lincoln, transporting children and their families to the Shriners Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. Perry is survived by wife, Julia of Hebron, daughters Perian Pattillo of Lincoln and Jana Kendall of Beatrice. Son Grant Rhoades of Beatrice. Stepson Tregan Albers and wife Deb of Davenport. Grandchildren Kylie Pattillo, Kass Pattillo, Jordan Rhoades, Dylan Kendall, Hunter Kendall and wife Brittney, Tregan Albers II and wife, Sarah, Trenton Albers and wife Stephanie. Great grandchildren Jalynn Gray, Grace Tuttle, Marshall Albers and Ethan Albers. Preceded in death by his parents, brother Richard Rhoades and first wife, Jody Rhoades. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 23, 2017 at Kuncl Funeral Home, 131 W. 12th St, Crete, NE. Memorials may be given to the family for a charitable donation to be made in Perry's memory at a later date. Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete is handling arrangements.
