Randy Willis Polage died at home on December 9, 2016. He was born in Crete, Nebraska on October 6, 1958, and was the only child of Earl and Leona (Worm) Polage. Randy attended Crete Public Schools and started with Custodial Services at Doane College on February 21, 1979, a position he held with great pride for almost 36 years. He frequently worked additional cafeteria positions on campus and he owned his own private cleaning service for a number of years.

He enjoyed his dogs, Rex and Molly, and could carry on a good conversation with about anybody. He lived on the family acreage until moving into town in 2009. The staff and students at Doane were his commitment and over the years he helped many a generation. The stories of Emma and Hugh Butler carried a special fascination for him. He was honored with his 35 Year Pin in 2016.

Randy is survived by his aunts, uncles and cousins. Special friends served as Honorary Pallbearers which included, David Lindahl, Aaron Mosenteen, Corbin Tabbert, Richard Martier, Lollie Teel, Lyle Teel, Randy Bargman and Shaylene Smith.

A Celebration of Life will be held December 19, 2016, at Doane University's Heckman Auditorium at 10:00 A.M. A reception and gathering will be hosted by Doane University following the service with a private burial. Private inurnment will be held at Riverside Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Doane University where Randy hoped to establish an emergency loan fund for the students.
