Obituary

Rex Lauterbach was born on January 23, 1943 to Truman and Frances (Krull) Lauterbach. He graduated from Central High School in 1960 and then went on to join the Air Force ROTC after graduation. Rex joined the Navy in October 1966 and served alongside his awesome brother Mark.

He married Debbie Welsh in 1975 and had three children whom he was so proud of, Seth, Zach, and Sarah. He worked at NPPD for like a million years and retired around seven different times.

Rex married the love of his life Diane "Sweetie" Kinney on May 5, 1991 at which time they moved to the farm in Crete where they have resided for 30+ years.

Rex enjoyed his animals, spending time with family and especially his grandkids, going to ball games, daily Walmart runs, playing pitch, listening to polka, being active in his church, and giving big hugs. He was so full of life and he always knew someone everywhere he went.

Rex passed away unexpectedly on January 15, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He will be missed immensely by so many.

He was preceded in death by his parents Truman and Frances Lauterbach. Survived by his brother Mark Lauterbach, wife Diane, sons Seth (Faith) Lauterbach and Zach (Rebecca) Lauterbach, daughter Sarah (AJ) Meier, step-sons Chris (Rosetta) Warren and Mark Warren. He had 15 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
