Richard John Frew was born on June 29, 1953 to John S. and Dorothy (Birkman) Frew and passed away on November 30, 2020 in Saline County, Nebraska.  Richard was a dutiful son that helped on the dairy farm while growing up.  He graduated from Crete High School in 1971.  After graduation he joined the Navy in September of 1972 and served for three years of foreign sea service during his 4 years of active duty.  He was honorably discharged in July of 1976 and then continued to serve in the Naval Reserves until August of 1978.  After serving his country Richard returned to the farm, where he worked the land and fulfilled his passion for farming until his death.  He was known by many for his generosity and lending a helping hand when needed. He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Frew, his wife of 30 years, Lois, children, Stephanie (Shane), Caleb and Kyle (Katie), granddaughter, Elaina, brother Jim (Laura), sister, Carol (Bruce) Kelley and many other loving family members. Preceded in death by his father John and sister Patsy. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Grace United Methodist Church in Crete, Nebraska.  The service will be livestreamed and can be accessed via the Facebook icon at the bottom of our website homepage at the start time for the service.  Visitation will be held at Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete, Nebraska on Thursday from 5 PM to 8 PM.  Memorials to the family for future designation.  Arrangements entrusted to Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete.
