Richard "Grandpa Bear" Noddings was born May 31, 1952, in Spokane Washington at Fairchild Air Force Base to Lloyd and Caroline Noddings. He died February 18, 2019 in Lincoln, Nebraska. The oldest of 4 brothers who were separated at a young age, Richard grew up in foster homes around Spokane and Moses Lake, Washington. Richard arrived in Vietnam on his 18th birthday as a soldier in the 101st Airborne Division. After serving in Vietnam he was stationed in Alaska and California. He served in the United States Army for over nine years until being medically discharged. Richard moved his family to Nebraska to be closer to his father. As a master carpenter he established a construction business, renovating and building homes. He also received his master's degree in social work from UN-L and worked for the Department of Human Services and Tabitha. Richard and Janet Endorf Call married in 1998. They moved to Wilber in 2001. Richard is survived by Janet, daughter Jamie Reimer and grandchildren Evan and Caroline Reimer of Papillion, mother-in-law Roberta Endorf, niece Katrina Pelican and several nephews.
