Richard A Strain was born February 4th, 1950, welcomed by his parents Charles and Verda (Fry) Strain. He left this world on May 18th, 2023, with his wonderful wife of 48 years Roberta (Kovar) Strain by his side.  Richard was a hardworking, caring man and father of 3 Tracy, Scott, and Charles. He welcomed all with open arms and was always willing to give a helping hand to those in need. He was proud of his time in the Air Force during the Vietnam War and was grateful to be a member of the VFW in Crete where he was a commander and quarter master for a time. Proud grandfather of 9, and 1 great grandchild. In his spare time, he loved fishing, hunting, pets of all kinds, and nothing more than a good Nebraska Football game with a cold beer.

Richard is survived by his wife Roberta Strain, daughter Tracy Pecka & special friend, Steve, Son & daughter in law Scott & Sheryl Strain, Charles and Samantha Strain, and sister Jody & Dennis Schlake. He is preceded in death by father Charles Strain, and Mother Verda Strain.

The viewing will be at Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete, NE on Tuesday May 23rd between 5-7 PM.

Funeral services will be held at Kuncl Funeral Home on Wednesday May 24th at 11 AM, followed with lunch at Veterans and Friends in Crete provided by Women's Auxiliary. The family requests casual attire. Graveside services to follow at 2 pm at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery, military honors provided by Crete VFW Post 4959 & Crete American Legion Post 147. Memorials are in the care of the family for future designation.  Arrangements entrusted to Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete.
