Rocío Méndez falleció rodeada de su familia el 20 de diciembre del 2023. Ella nació en Cerano, Guanajuato, México, sus padres son Pedro y María Rodríguez. Ella era la hermana del medio, la número seis de once. En México, ella se graduó con su bachillerato en ciencias químicas y biológicas. Rocío se casó con Salud Méndez el 28 de diciembre de 1990. Decidieron mudarse a los estados Unidos para comenzar su familia. Llegaron primero al estado de Washington. Tuvieron tres hijos, Maira, Favián y Julián. Rocío disfrutaba la escuela y se inscribió en un programa de GED y clases de inglés a las que asistía por las tardes. Ella dedicaba su vida a su familia, siempre priorizando a todos antes de ella. Le gustaba celebrar el cumpleaños y los logros de sus seres queridos, siempre cocinaba algo delicioso. A Rocío la describen como una mamá, esposa, hija, hermana, tía y amiga amorosa, cariñosa, y llena de vida. Le encantaba convivir con su familia y amigos. Todos la extrañaremos mucho.
El rosario y velación será el lunes, 25 de diciembre del 2023 a las 7pm en la iglesia Sagrado Corazón en Crete. El funeral y la misa serán el martes, 26 de diciembre a las 2pm en la iglesia Sagrado Corazón.
Rocío Méndez passed away surrounded by her family on December 20, 2023. She was born in Cerano, Guanajuato, México to Pedro and María Rodríguez. She was the middle child, number six of eleven siblings. In Mexico she graduated from high school with an emphasis in chemistry and biology. Rocío married Salud Méndez on December 28, 1990. They decided to move to the United States to start a family. They first settled in Washington State. They had three children, Maira, Favián and Julián. Rocío enjoyed school and enrolled herself in a GED program and English language classes which she would attend in the evenings. She devoted her life to her family, always putting others before herself. She enjoyed celebrating her family's birthdays and milestones, always making sure to cook something delicious. Rocío is described as a caring, loving, and full of life mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She will be dearly missed.
A Vigil Service will be held on Monday, December 25, 2023 at 7:00 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Crete. The Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, December 26th at 2:00 PM at the church. Arrangements entrusted to Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete.
