Roger Moore, 71, of Denton NE passed away peacefully at home April 11, 2019. Born to Russell and Helen (Root) Moore in their home at Elgin NE. The family moved to Lincoln just before he entered Kindergarten. He attended Lincoln High School and graduated in the class of 1966. After high school he joined the National Guard serving as a teletype operator, cook and military policeman. On July 19, 1968 he married his high school sweetheart, Dianne Law at St. Teresa's Catholic Church in Lincoln. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary August 2 by renewing their wedding vows with a dinner reception following. They were blessed with four sons: Cole Moore (Denise Carmichael) of Firth; Justin Moore (Sarah Gring) of Rifle Co; Eric Moore (Meghan Steckbauer) of Lincoln; Cameron Moore (Melanie Johnson) of Lincoln; nine grandchildren: Alexis, Allison, Brenna, Lauren, Colton, Natalie, Clay, Caleb, and Hazel. He was also anxiously awaiting his first greatgrandchild in September. Roger was a certified diesel mechanic and welder at Stephenson's Truck and Body Repair for 45 + years. He loved restoring cars and always had a project in the works. He loved fast cars and motorcycles. Roger enjoyed camping, fishing, kayaking, waterskiing (in those younger days), and hunting. In his spare time he loved oil painting and leather tooling. He helped Dianne with a large vegetable garden and tended his orchard enlarging it every year. Roger enjoyed plants and flowers with Cacti being his favorite. He had a real knack with plants and animals. Roger was an Assistant Boy Scout Leader for several years and very proud he had sons that were Eagle Scouts. Roger was an extremely kind and generous man. Always ready to help anyone with any project. His generosity has extended even after death as he was an organ and tissue donor. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, the Harley Owners Group (HOG), and the Lincoln Corvette Club. Preceded in death by his parents; Russell and Helen Moore, brother Gary Moore and sister Paula Herring, mother-in-law Betty Moore. Fellowship: Monday, April 22nd at 5:00 PM followed by the Rosary at 7:00 PM. The funeral service will be Tuesday, April 23rd at 11:00 AM. Services, viewing and fellowship will all take place at St. Mary's Catholic Church 7105 Cass Ave. Denton NE. Pastor Msgr. Mark Huber will officiate both services. Interment will be at the Sunnyside Cemetery Denton NE. Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete is handling arrangements.
