Ronald E. Steuk Jr. of Crete passed away on June 4, 2016 after a lengthy and courageous battle with brain cancer. He was born December 5, 1954 in Ida Grove, Iowa to Ronald W. Sr. and Audrey J. (Belstene) Steuk.Ron worked in procurement for Smithfield Foods for 39 years. Ron was very supportive of the pork industry, pork producers, and county and state fairs. He judged hog shows and herdsmanship. Ron enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, golfing, grilling, reading Westerns, and his grandchildren. His hosting skills at the Wilber Czech days were legendary.
Ron is survived by his loving wife, Deb of Crete; daughter, Sarah (Barry) Bradford of Manhattan, KS; son, Matt (Rebecca) Steuk of Friend; grandchildren, Hannah, Kiernan and Lydia Bradford, Trevin and Isaac Steuk; brothers, Jeff (Gigi) Steuk of Fremont, CA, Greg (Sheryl) Steuk of Sioux City, IA, Kevin Steuk of Omaha; mother-in-law, Nancy Martin of Waukee, IA; sister-in-law, Shelly Waugh of Des Moines, IA; cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, Fred and Martha Steuk, Earl and Hazel Belstene, and father-in-law, Dale Martin.
Memorial services will be held 10:30 AM on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete. Family will greet friends on Tuesday, June 7 from 5-7 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be at a later date, at Blue Valley Cemetery, Crete. Memorials may be left in care of the family for future designation. Condolences may be left at kunclfh.com.
