Ronnie L.
Vejraska
April 25, 1951 – February 14, 2019
Ronnie Lee Vejraska passed away Thursday, February 14th, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. Born April 25th, 1951, to Joseph and Rose Vejraska in Friend, Nebraska. The family later moved to Crete and set down roots for many years. Ron enjoyed many interests and hobbies including camping, hunting, and fishing, but his true passion was in drag racing and motorsports of all types. When Ron's three sons were young he enjoyed spending time sharing these interests with them and teaching them what he knew. He also spent time helping the boys with their activities. Camping was something the whole family did together. Sometimes it was at a nearby lake for the weekend and often included an annual trip to Gavins Point Damn in Yankton, South Dakota for a week or two. He spent a lot of time hunting and trapping with Tony, and in the garage working on race cars and pulling tractors with Tim and Nic. Ron was a jack of all trades but master of none. He had many interests beyond just the hobbies mentioned including science fiction movies, music, and on occasion and ornery sense of humor. In later years of work, Ron drove a semi-tractor trailer all over the United States and loved seeing so many beautiful places our country has to offer. Ron is survived by his wife Kate of 48 years, sons Tony, (wife Jennifer) Tim, & Nic, (significant other Jessica), grandchildren Emma & Blake Vejraska, Mason & Michaela, Joe & Leah, Brad, Cyndralynn, Danicaella, & Pierce, brother Larry (wife Karen) Vejraska, sister Norma Pulec, and several nephews and nieces. Honorary Pallbearers: Jeremy Vejraska, Joe Vejraska, Angie Vejraska, Travis Neeman, Amanda London, Daniel Neeman, Amy Weinman, Sean Lauritsen, Brandie Rush. A celebration of Ron's life will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February, 18th 2019, at Kuncl Funeral Home, 131 West 12th Street, Crete NE 68333. Family will greet friends 1 hour prior to service. Casual attire please. Following the service, the celebration will continue at Veterans & Friends located at 130 West 13th Street in Crete. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Lymphoma Foundation or in care of the family.
