Rosemary Kathryn (Hier) Bartak, age 94, of Crete, passed away peacefully at the Emerald Nursing & Rehab Center in Lincoln on December 16, 2023.  She was born on December 2, 1929 in Crete to Henry and Anna (Hanzel) Hier.  She attended school in Sterling and Douglas and graduated high school.  On November 24, 1949, she was united in marriage to Robert Lee Bartak.  To this union 8 children were born:  Michael, Elizabeth, Renee, David, Patricia, Lawrence, Tony, and Thomas.  She worked at the Crete Hospital as a laundry supervisor for 17 years until her retirement.  Her interests were nature, Czech Days, family events, word search, polka dancing, and traveling.  Her faith in her religion was very important to her.  She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Crete and served on the Alter Society.  Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert, sons: Michael, David, and Thomas, and daughter Renee Edelmaier.  She is survived by sons: Tony and Lawrence of Crete, daughters and son in law Elizabeth Eckert of Seattle, Washington and Patti and Carl Ensor of Crete.  15 grandchildren.  22 great grandchildren.  2 great great grandchildren. Services are Thursday, December 21, 2023, at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Crete with viewing 1 hour prior to services.  Memorials are in care of the family.  Arrangements entrusted to Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete.
