Roy R. Pomajzl, 87, of rural Wilber, NE, passed away August 6, 2018 in the same house he was born in, surrounded by his loving family. Roy was born January 26, 1931 to parents, Adolph and Adela (Altman) Pomajzl. On June 7, 1959, Roy married the love of his life, Rose Mae Steinacher of Milligan, NE. Roy met Rose Mae at a dance in the Milligan Auditorium. They spent 59 wonderful years together and were never apart. Roy dedicated his life taking care of the family farm he was born and raised on. In addition to farming, Roy served in the National Guard and was president of the Olive Branch School District #158 for many years. He enjoyed Czech and polka music, going with his wife to dances, and taking his family on vacations. Roy loved spending time outdoors, fishing, hunting, and taking care of his livestock; whistling wherever he went. Roy is survived by his beloved wife: Rose Mae, three children: Dale R. Pomajzl and special friend Leslie Rule, Bruce R. Pomajzl and wife Lori (Hormandl) Pomajzl, Tricia R. (Pomajzl) Brown and husband Jeff Brown. Roy had four grandchildren: Hollee Pomajzl, Justin Pomajzl, Jackee (Pomajzl) Hroch, and Wesley Pomajzl, as well as six great grandchildren. He is also survived by his special cat, Lily and his dog, Flash. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph and Adela (Altman) Pomajzl, and daughter in law, Linda (Duitsman) Pomajzl. Roy was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be greatly missed. A small private family memorial service will be held for immediate family in celebration of Roy R. Pomajzl's life. Kuncl Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
