Shirley Mae Luzum, the daughter of Rudolph and Ella Marie (Barta) Luzum, was born in Friend, Nebraska on November 5, 1947. She passed away at Tabitha in Crete, NE on June 29, 2025, at the age of 77 years.

She grew up on the family farm northwest of Wilber and attended rural school District #78 and then attended Wilber High School graduating in 1965. After graduation, she worked for Campbell Soup Factory in Tecumseh for many years and was later employed at the Crete Hospital and Burger King.  In 1979, she moved with her family to Crete to make their home.

In her younger years, she was in 4-H, a member of a Saddle Club and was on a bowling league for many years.  Shirley was a Nebraska Husker fan and enjoyed watching football as well as volleyball.   In her earlier years she enjoyed traveling, puzzles and word searches and watched the game show network daily.

Shirley was a former member of ZCBJ Lodge #389.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Marilyn. She is survived by her cousins.

Graveside services will be Thursday, July 3, 2025, 11 AM at the Wilber Czech Cemetery.
