Shirley Jean Matrisciano, 81 of Wilber, formerly of Western, died Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at Bryan East Medical Center in Lincoln, surrounded by her family. Born January 10, 1938 to James and Elizabeth (Kratina) Rischling. She attended beauty school after graduating from Western High School in 1955. She married Joe Matrisciano on November 6, 1958 and together they had three children, Todd, Tim and Monica. Shirley and Joe lived in many communities around the state of Nebraska, making many friends and memories along the way. Shirley loved cooking, planting flowers, watching sports and visiting with friends and family, but her family was most important to her. Perhaps her favorite role was being Grandma to Danielle and Nathan. Shirley is survived by Todd, Elizabeth, Eduardo, Aislim, Elizabeth and Jessica; Tim, Teresa and Dani; Monica and Nate; her special friend Gene Busboom, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Joe, her brother Jim, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and brothers and sisters-in-law. Her positive outlook and sense of humor will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A celebration of Shirley's life will be held at Kuncl Funeral Home in Wilber on Thursday, July 11th at 10:30 am. Interment will follow at Plainview Cemetery in Western.  Cremation, no visitation. Memorials may be given to the family for future designation.
