Silvija
Kapor
July 31, 1966 – December 25, 2024
Silvija's life was one of extraordinary resilience, deep compassion, and unwavering love. Born in Sarajevo, Bosnia, to Nevenka and Avdo, she was raised in a city filled with history and beauty, where she attended primary school and later graduated from Sarajevo Metropolitan College with a degree in microbiology. When war ravaged her homeland, Silvija, along with her husband Zoran and their oldest son Boris, fled to Inzell, Germany. There, they found a place of refuge, and Silvija gave birth to their youngest son, Bojan.
In 1999, in search of a fresh start and a safer life, Silvija and her family moved to Phoenix, Arizona. Life was difficult, and the challenges of a new country were many. But with the help of a dear family friend, they found their way to Crete, Nebraska, where they settled and built a life together.
Throughout all of life's trials, Silvija was a woman of incredible strength and grace. She never complained, no matter the hardship, and her radiant smile and positive attitude lit up every room she entered. She worked tirelessly for her family, always putting the needs of others before her own. But what truly set her apart was her immense heart. Silvija cared deeply for everyone she encountered, offering kindness, understanding, and a listening ear to all who needed it.
Her legacy is one of love, compassion, and resilience. She will be remembered not only for the quiet strength with which she faced life's challenges, but for the warmth and generosity she shared so freely. Silvija touched the lives of everyone she met, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her spirit, her beautiful smile, and her unwavering love for her family will forever be cherished
