Obituary

Theresa Ann Wissenburg was born on May 9, 1939 to Albert J., Sr. and Emma E. (Vyhnalek) Hajek in Odell, Nebraska and passed away at her home on June 30, 2021 at the age of 82 years.

She was a graduate of Odell High School with the Class of 1957.  She moved to Crete in 1961 and after working several years for the City of Lincoln, she met Jim Wissenburg and they were united in marriage on December 19, 1970 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Crete, Nebraska.  Shortly after marriage she became a full-time farm wife.  She enjoyed life on the farm, especially raising pigs, her flowers and working outdoors.  Later on, she went back to work in the office at Sack Lumber in Crete.  Following retirement, Jim and Theresa enjoyed traveling, including two trips to Alaska and, keeping up with their grandchildren's' activities.

She is survived by her husband Jim of 50 years, children, Jerry (Lisa), Larry (Rhonda), Jim III (Teresa), Ben (Amy), Susan (Paul) and Sid (Katy).  She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, sisters:  Annamae Soucie and Betty Sieck, brothers: Ray Hajek, Albert Hajek, Gene Hajek and Paul Hajek.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Emma Hajek and her sister Evelyn Drake.

Mass of Christian burial will be on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Crete, Nebraska.   Visitation will be held on Monday, July 5, 2021 at Kuncl Funeral Home from 3:30 to 5:30 and from 6 PM to 7 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with a rosary following at 7 PM.  Memorials to St. James Catholic School.  Arrangements entrusted to Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete.
