Thomas J. Kalkwarf, 65, of Crete, NE passed away peacefully on July 21, 2017 at his home. He was born August 14, 1951 in Crete to Loren R. & Mary Ann (Tummond) Kalkwarf.

Tom graduated from Crete High School in 1970. He was employed at the Crete Mills for 42 years. He married Connie (Novak) Kalkwarf and to this marriage was blessed with three children.

He enjoyed spending time with this wife and family. He enjoyed helping others, listening to music, home improvement projects and making others laugh and smile. His favorite time of the year was Christmas and with all that comes with it.

Survivors include his wife, Connie of Crete; Daughters, Kim (Corey) Brodersen of Roca, Jill (Trevor) Kropp of DeWitt; Son, Brent Kalkwarf of Erie, Colorado; grandchildren, Kaidence, Carson and Kinsley Brodersen, Hailey Lauenstein, Hayven, Cayden and Baylee Kropp; brothers, Bob (Linda) Kalkwarf, Bill (Gwen) Kalkwarf, Spike ( Mary Ann) Kalkwarf, Mike (Becky) Kalkwarf; sisters, Barb Petracek, Pat (Wayne) Urbach, Martha (Al) Hingst, Mary Ellen (Lyle) Calkins, Susie (Mark) Urbach and Julie (Steve) Layton; mother in law, Ann Novak; sisters in law, Carolyn (Dean) Mach, Marilyn (Darrell) Williams; brother in law, Lumir (Darlene) Novak, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Loren Kalkwarf and father-in-law, Lumir Novak.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete, NE. Visitation will be on Monday 2-8 PM with family greeting friends 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Interment at Camden Cemetery. Memorials in lieu of flowers care of the family for future designation. Condolences may be left online at kunclfh.com.
