Obituary

Twila Faith Inderlied was the only child of Elmer, Jr. and Bertha Kohout Moore. She was born on October 7, 1927 on the farm West of Saline Center near Dorchester, Nebraska. She passed away on March 12, 2020 at the Wilber Care Center. Twila attended Rural School District 94 and graduated from Wilber High School with the class of 1944 with a 12 year perfect attendance. For 6 years she taught in Rural School Districts 120 and 71. She also worked as a bookkeeper at Fairmont Foods in Crete for one year and at Grainger Bros. and Wentz Plumbing, both in Lincoln, for a year. On December 2, 1952, she was united in marriage with Willard Inderlied at the Trinity Lutheran Church in DeWitt. They made their home in Wilber until June 1960. During this time, they were blessed with 2 sons: Richard Alan and Kenneth Wayne. Twila was baptized and confirmed at the Trinity Lutheran Church in DeWitt in September 1953 by Pastor Ervin Janssen. She transferred membership to the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wilber in later years. In June 1960, they moved to Denver, Colorado. Here she taught in a private pre-school for 3 years. When the school closed, she took care of their neighbor's toddler twin girls for 2 years. In June 1965, they moved back to Nebraska to take over farming after her parents retired. At first, they lived on, and also farmed, Willard's family farm near DeWitt, commuting between the 2 farms. They moved to the farm by Saline Center in August 1969. Twila loved farm life, helping Willard whenever she could, the trucking of grain, caring for livestock, gardening and doing whatever else was needed. They continued to farm until 1984. In April 1989, they moved back to Wilber, coming full circle, living just 2 ½ blocks from where they began life together almost 37 years before. Twila was always interested in her family and friends, keeping in touch with her classmates. She enjoyed working with family genealogy, both hers and Willard's, sharing with family. She never forgot her Czech heritage, conversing and singing whenever the occasion arose. She was a member of Saline Center Lodge, receiving her 75 year pin in 2011. In the 40's, she was a member of the Saline Center Initiation Team. She was also a member of the DeWitt Grange, holding various offices throughout those years. At one time, she sang with the Saline County Chorus. Twila is survived by her sons and daughters in law: Richard and Jacqulyn of Lincoln, Kenneth and Kathleen of Beatrice. Grandchildren: Patrick Inderlied, Bradley and Michelle Inderlied, Kurtis and Danielle Inderlied, Kristin Inderlied, Kody Inderlied and significant other Shantel Jay. Great grandchildren: Karson, Avery, Zachary, Karson, Eliza, Harmony, Harper, Grayson, and Dru. Cousins: Karen Moore Nelson and husband Bob, Kay and Roger Moore, and Karen Booth. Niece, Carol Ashley and her children Richard and Kimberly. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard, on June 19, 2008, her parents, grandparents, 2 uncles, an aunt, a cousin, her sister in-law and brother in-law, Lucille and Vern Kuehn.
