Velma Louise Javorsky, 88, of Lincoln, formerly of Crete, passed away April 7, 2016. She was born March 2, 1928 in Lancaster County to William and Lucy (Shenamscruber) Hessheimer.
She grew up on a farm outside of Crete and married Victor Javorsky December 15, 1946. To this union, four children were born. She was employed by Formfit and Alpo in Crete.
Velma was a woman of faith who loved spending time with her family. She loved playing cards and dominoes with her grandchildren. She enjoyed crocheting blankets and dolls. She was an avid reader. She is famous among her family for baking the best kolaches and rolls ever. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda (Ron) Nielsen of Cherokee, IA, Connie (and the late Tim) Wolfe-Brown of Lincoln, and her son, Mark Javorsky, also of Lincoln. Seven grandchildren: Tammy (Jeff) UitDeFlesch, Terri (Jeff) Weaver, Tanya (Steve) Riemenschneider, Mellanie Wolfe, Tally (Rusty) Rasmus, Jason Brown, and Tim (Beth) Nielsen. Nineteen great-grandchildren: Emily, Ellen, Edie, Lucas, Tom, Rick, Jessy, Sidney, Kasey, Abbey, Alexis, Lynsey, Emma, Preston, Payton, Elijah, Keegan, Harper, and Sawyer. Four Great-Great Grandchildren: James, Amia, Zariah, and Raylen.
Velma was preceded in death by her husband, Victor, her son, Richard, her parents, William and Lucy Hessheimer, her brothers Alvin and Herbert, her sisters-in-law, Frances and Frieda, and her son-in-law, Tim Brown.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, April 11, 2016 at Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete. Visitation will be Sunday from 4-8 PM with family greeting friends from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
