Obituary

Verla M. Tyser, 83, of Wilber, NE passed away on April 7, 2017. She was born on October 29, 1933 near DeWitt to Lawrence and Adella (Klostermeier) Schuerman. Verla grew up in the DeWitt area and graduated in 1951 from DeWitt High School. She married Joseph F. Tyser in June of 1951 in DeWitt. After getting married, Joe worked as a mechanic for the IH dealership. Joe was then drafted to serve with the Marines during the Korean War. He and Verla were stationed at Camp Pendleton in California for 2 years before returning back to Nebraska. Upon their return they began renting farm ground which started their farming career which spanned nearly 60 years.

Verla was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Swanton, Swanton United Methodist Church and was a SCAT bus board member. Verla's family was very important to her but her grandchildren were the highlight of her life.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Gene and Sherry Tyser of Wilber, NE, Joel and Madonna Tyser of Mexico, MO; grandchildren and spouses, Ashley (Jordan) Clark, Allison (Tim) Brahm, Megan (David) Shifrin, Brielle Bayless, Jared (Michelle) Tyser, Alayna (Luke) Abbate, Svetlana Tyser and Ryan Tyser; 9 great grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, LaVae and Howard Schuerman; brother and sister-in-law, Allen "Bucky" and Patty Schuerman; brother-in-law, Dale Rezny; sister-in-law, Gladys Tyser.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Adella Schuerman; husband, Joseph F. Tyser; sister, Donna Rezny; brother, Floyd "Whitey" Schuerman; brother-in-law, Kenneth Tyser; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dwain and Corrine Tyser.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Kuncl Funeral Home in Wilber with Pastor Lila Bottolfsen officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5-8 PM and also Wednesday from 9 AM – 1 PM all at the funeral home in Wilber. Interment will take place at Wilber Czech Cemetery. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be directed in care of the family for future designation. Condolences may be left online at kunclfh.com.
