Verna Mae (Henning) Johnson was born on August 30, 1931 to Elmer and Hannah (Sieck) Henning. On October 1, 1952, she married Robert E. "Bob" Johnson. She died on March 21, 2020 in Crete. Verna has been joined in death by her parents, her husband, Bob, brother Melvin Henning, sister and brother-in-law, Marfae and Deryl Wergin, brother-in-law George Underwood, nephews Gary and Doug Wergin and niece, Marcia Strabe.  She is survived by her five children, Vicky Johnson (Kent Plummer), Mark Johnson, Kerry Beezley (James), James Johnson (Marnie) and Andrew Johnson (Michele);  Her sister, Eunice Underwood,  Sister-in-law Twila Henning; 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 3, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Crete https://www.facebook.com/bethlehemlutherancrete/posts/ .  Memorials should be sent to Lambs of Christ Preschool, Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 8th and Hawthorne, Crete, Nebraska.  Arrangements entrusted to Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete.
