Virginia Mae (Griffin) Sutton, 85, of Crete passed away on May 28, 2017 at the Crete Area Medical Center. She was born on May 11, 1932 in Clayville, New York to Francis George and Dorothy Mae (Heldel) Griffin. Virginia was blessed with 10 children. She moved to Sargent, NE in the 50's where she had 3 sons, then moving to Lincoln, NE where she worked and had 7 more children. Virginia ended her education after the 8th grade, she worked in restaurants and Russel Stover Candy in Lincoln. In the 1980's she moved to Crete where she worked at Formfit, Casey's and ended with volunteering her time at 9th Street Bar and Grill.

She is survived by her children, Raymond Nelson and wife Dottie of Tennessee, Doug Nelson of Florida, Michael Nelson of New Hampshire, Star House, Vicki O'Donnell, Ginger Nelson, Donnie Chase and Dale Sutton all of Crete, Bobbie Sutton and wife Terri of Kansas and Becki Barry of Florida; grandchildren, Billie, Sean, Ashley, Porshea, Nicholas, Felicia, Melissa, Dylan, Jaimie, Blue and Wayne; great grandchildren, Olivia, Chris, Dustin, Le, Anthony, Hailey, Jordan, Abigail, Reina and Eden.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Dorothy; husband, Billie Sutton; grandson, Jeremy Cade and son-in-law, Roy House.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 4 PM on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at the Crete Berean Church, 395 County Road 2500, Crete. Arrangements entrusted to Kuncl Funeral Home, Crete. Condolences may be left online at kunclfh.com.
